This is a TWD we recently removed and replaced. You will notice a stark contrast in this picture in this picture to those following, where corners were not closed much less soldered. A complete lack of adhesive sealing the flashing to the wall.
PICTURE MISSING SHOULD BE OLD TWD TO OUT SIDE.
UNDER CONSTRUCTION
We have now fabricated a new TWD (Through wall drain), extended out from the stucco wall eliminating the cold joint
Fabricated with careful hands, nothing spectacular about making a long term water tight penetration, unless time is a consideration the installer is not given. Solder, not a foreign substance, through the lack of it will not provide a long term solution.
The final detail fabricating an exterior collar and soldering the same. Finally we seal the outside perimeter with a membrane water proof system to keep the entire installation water tight for years to come.
